If You Give a Mouse (er..a Toddler) a Camera

We got a new digital camera on black Friday. Saved a bunch of money but still not worth the angry crowds at 4 am. The new one doesn't play a lovely tune to alert the children that you are now going to take a picture, hallelujah! It also lets you take another picture quicker than the last one. Not that I'm promising some amazing photos from now on, but you might see some with Graham smiling or Hugh actually looking at the camera. Anyways, we gave our old one to Hugh to play with. Here is what inspired him:

I call this one A View to Forget
Not bad, right? Well, these are the only 3 out of about 200 that don't have his finger in the entire shot or are taken of a wall. He has a thing with walls.

Crazy Lady Who Calls Herself Mom
Sexy, I know.

Dad On The Floor
A typical day after Dad gets home from school. They wrestle and then Garth tries to fall asleep while Hugh tries to stop him from sleeping. It usually ends up with Hugh in time out.

Self Portrait: Beautiful ME
A look at what a toddler thinks of himself, or thinks of period.

This is not one of Hugh's, of course. I'm including this one because I can :). Someday when he's 9 Hugh will find it in my blog book and tear the page out. If he doesn't then I'll be sure to show it to his girlfriends, or at least his fiance. I don't like thinking of that though because it makes me feel old. In the mean time....don't you think I should start potty training him? I'm not sure if he honestly wants to go in the "biiiiig potty" or if he just wants an excuse to doodle his dingle. Boys! Man I love his little bum though!

Good Samaritans

Yesterday was yucky. Garth and I ended up with food poisoning from Wegman's (not going to buy their sushi ever again). It snowed a ton and the wind was blowing like you couldn't believe. Neither the kids or I got out of our PJs all day. Around 3pm I get a knock on our front door and open it to find a large boy with about 4 facial piercings. Interesting. He asks me if I want him and his 2 friends to shovel our driveway (which has about a foot of snow on it). I tell him that I can't pay him but he says he doesn't mind. In about 5 minutes our drive way, walk, and side walk are all clean. I had them come in for hot chocolate and cookies to thank them. When asked why they were volunteering their services one of them said, "There's not much to do in Buffalo and we get bored." When I was a bored teenager I'd play video games, talk on the phone, complain to my mom, etc., I did not think of serving total strangers or enduring any physical discomfort to to so. Needles to say I was impressed with them, even if the facial piercings scared me at first. Thank you random boys!

3 Months

Three months with Graham (wow, I almost wrote Hugh!) has flown by. He is pretty much the best kid anyone could ask for. Normal babies cry when you change their diaper (especially in a freezing cold house like ours) but this kid giggles...giggles. Most 3 month olds are still waking up 1-3 times a night. My angel slept 11 hours last night. I stayed up to watch a movie and still got to sleep in until 7. He bats at his swing toys and tries to grab things now. He grins like a monkey when you pay the littlest bit of attention to him. He loves to dance and bounce around. He hates tummy time. His perpetual colds and coughs he gets from his brother never seem to put him in a bad mood. I just love squeezing and snuggling him. I feel bad for not ogling him all day like he deserves but I love every second I'm able to. Graham, you're not just a keeper, you're a prized catch.

Santa

We just got back from doing the Christmas party with Boulevard Mall Buddies. I'm exhausted but it was fun. Hugh rode the carousel, ate candy canes, played with bubbles, colored a picture, got a stuffed dogie, had a clown make him a balloon hat with antlers, had a snowman painted on his hand and decided Santa was OK. Santa was fantastic. Not only did he have a very cool looking REAL beard but he was really funny and great with the kids. Hugh was not so cool with even going near him until he whipped out a candy cane. After that he figured that he was OK with being next to the guy, just not held by him. We enjoyed ourselves.
